COMPETITION FOR PUBLIC SPACES IN CHIAVARI (GE)

The relationship between the city and its environmental heritage is a blur between natural and artificial. This step is a reduction from a complex and organic system to a simple and single-cell system which becomes the identifying theme of the public space. The project pursues the maximum extension of the public space making it perceptible also from the street and the square. A single material, inexpensive but of aesthetic value, architectural concrete makes different “territories” visible to the view: the road, the promenade, the dehors, the play areas for children, the parking lots. The boundaries between these therefore become more blurred and less evident, but not insecure for this, and are the altitude jumps, the use of greenery, the positioning of the street furniture elements, the lighting the colors the elements that articulate these passages , now favoring them, now hindering them.

La relazione fra la città e il suo patrimonio ambientale è una sfocatura tra naturale ed artificiale. Tale Passaggio è Riduzione da un Sistema Complesso ed Organico ad uno Semplice e Monocellulare che diviene tema identificativo dello spazio pubblico. Il progetto persegue la massima estensione dello spazio pubblico rendendolo percepibile anche dalla strada e dalla piazza. Un unico materiale, economico ma di valore estetico, il calcestruzzo architettonico rende continui alla vista “territori” diversi: la strada, la passeggiata,i dehors,gli spazi di gioco per i bambini, i parcheggi. I confini fra questi diventano quindi più labili e meno evidenti, ma non per questo insicuri, e sono i salti di quota, l’uso del verde, il posizionamento degli elementi di arredo urbano, l’illuminazione i colori gli elementi che articolano questi passaggi, ora favorendoli, ora ostacolandoli.
